Cattail Brown Sport Weight Yarn
This isn't your everyday brown yarn. Look closely and you'll see hints of yellow, orange and red, too! The alpaca is grade 3 (23-26 microns) blended with dyed merino for a fine yarn suitable for almost anything but socks (unless you add a strand of wooly nylon to the heel and toe)

50% Wool

"Icy Blue" Sock Yarn
Designing new yarns is so much fun! I added natural grade 4 (26-29 microns) white and fawn alpaca to multi-colored dyed wool and Tencel for a little more shine and durability to create this Icy Blue sport weight sock yarn. Of course you can use it for most other outerwear -- hats, scarves, gloves and mittens, even a fine gauge sweater, too!

20% Dyed Wool
10% Tencel

Lla-Hua-Su Fulling Yarn
This yarn has been specially designed using my llama Annalee's fiber along with some huacaya and suri alpaca. As sweet as she is, Annalee's fiber is too scratchy to be worn next to the skin, but it's perfect for knitting and fulling slippers, stuffed animals, handbags, etc. I've also knitted my husband a pair of fuzzy socks!

100% llama and huacaya/suri alpaca
Approx. 300 yds/4 oz

Alpaca & Cormo "Dusty Rose"
One of the things I like best about designing yarns is I never know exactly what I'm going to get back. In the case of "Dusty Rose", I dyed some of my friend Kathy Jarvis' cormo sheep wool red, then blended it with white, fawn and brown alpaca fiber -- voila! A heathery Dusty Rose yarn.

This 3-ply, medium weight yarn is well-suited for hats, mittens, neckwarmers, scarves, sweaters, and baby's garments using a size 5-7 needle (or larger for looser fabric).

53% Alpaca
47% Cormo Wool
approx. 200 yds/4 oz.

Alpaca & Cormo Sock Yarn
When it comes to socks, no one can have too many. The colorful yarns and pattern designs mean you will never get bored knitting socks, and they are the ideal portable project.

I worked with mill-owner Nancy Williams to come up with a 3-ply medium weight sock yarn that would be well-suited for sport socks. We blended my alpaca fiber with my friend Kathy Jarvis' cormo sheep wool, added bamboo for luster and nylon for extra durability. The beauty of this yarn is it's great for mittens and hats too!

51% Alpaca
25% Cormo Wool
14% Bamboo
10% Nylon
Approx 200 yds/4 oz.

Nostepinde -- Scandinavian Ball Winder
This is a handy tool every knitter will want to find in her knitting bag. It's much easier to knit using pull-from-the-center balls -- no more balls rolling under the sofa! But it's not always convenient to set up a swift and mechanical ball winder. Instead, I drape the skein around my knees and begin to wrap the yarn around the nostepinde.

These nostepindes are handcrafted of cherry by a local alpaca farmer.

Latitude 15 -- The Ultimate in Natural Outerwear!
I have to admit I was skeptical when I first heard about these shirts, but as the days get colder, I find I'm once again reluctant to wear anything else while tending the alpacas as the temps nudge Zero.

The Latitude 15 shirt is a base layer pullover for people who love the outdoors but hate being cold. The base layer provides lightweight warmth, heat conductivity and odor management, while it wicks away moisture and reduces electrostatic discharge to keep you more comfortable.

The fabric face is a blend of the finest natural fibers -- silk and baby alpaca. The backing is a blend of Xstatic, a silver fiber providing moisture and odor management, and static elimination resulting in magnetic benefits for circulation and reduced swelling.

Latitude 15 shirts have been engineered and designed by David Stensland of A Craftsman's Touch Alpaca Co. in Kittery, ME David is one of America's top sweater designers whose credits include Alpaca Fiber Co-op of North America, Polo, Nicklaus, and his own Red Maple Sportswear.

Machine washable; lay flat to dry.

Please specify: Green, Grey, Blue, or Red. I can order sizes XS, S, M, L, XL in all colors.
